Bright Beauty Journal welcomes clear, original proposals about beauty products, routines, design and culture. A strong pitch starts with a specific question or distinction and gives readers a useful way to think about it without relying on hype.
What to pitch
We consider explanatory pieces, fair comparisons, product-language analysis, histories of familiar formats and close readings of beauty imagery. A proposal should identify its central idea, intended reader and why the subject merits a focused article. We favour work that can stand on its reasoning rather than unsupported claims, personal testimonials or a shopping list.
What makes a strong proposal
Keep the pitch concise and specific. Include a working title, a short outline, the main points you would make and any sources or material you expect to rely on. Flag relevant commercial relationships, prior publication or other interests. We do not promise acceptance, publication or a particular response time.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and select the editorial option. Please do not send confidential personal information or unpublished material you are not entitled to share. If a proposal is a fit, further details can be discussed before any work is commissioned.
A promise is only the beginning.
We look at the wording, format and assumptions behind beauty choices, so readers can decide what deserves their attention.
